Dear Students,
In the İstanbul Kültür University Department of Computer Engineering, the design and implementation of computer systems, software applications and hardware components are taught. The Department of Computer Engineering provides its students with all the necessary technical information regarding both hardware and software. The aim of the Department of Computer Engineering is to educate, produce, develop theory and applications, contribute to the improvement of computer-based systems and provide information and infrastructure for students to meet the requirements of the sector. With its up-to-date education plan, the Department offers courses on subjects that the sector may be in need of such as Game Programming, Mobile Programming, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Cryptology, Big Data Analytics, Web Programming, Robotics, Data Mining.
Research activities in the Department are gathered under 4 strategic areas and cooperation projects with industrial companies, academic research projects, bilateral cooperation projects with different countries, TÜBİTAK and European Union supported projects are prepared and implemented in these areas.

IKU Department of Computer Engineering graduates are intended to have the following competence and qualifications.
• A structure for the basics of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences
• In-depth knowledge including all basic concepts and current issues
• Ability to design, build and operate computer-based systems
• Knowledge and ability to examine problems from a cognitive point of view, to propose algorithmic solutions, to apply these solutions accurately and efficiently
• Awareness of the potentials and responsibilities of the IT profession in the context of science, technology and society
• A strong infrastructure for further professional development in industrial and academic settings
